Overview

Holding developing targeted nanoparticle carriers (NanoVelos) and enzyme therapeutics (NanoSanguis) for oncology.

What they do

NanoGroup is a Polish biotechnology holding company listed on the Warsaw Stock Exchange (GPW) since December 2017. It develops nanotechnology-based medical solutions through subsidiaries, principally NanoVelos (targeted nanoparticle drug-delivery carriers for oncology) and NanoSanguis (enzyme therapeutics and organ-preservation / perfusion fluids), with additional work historically under NanoThea for diagnostic nanoparticles.

Lead program & status

Its lead delivery platform encapsulates anticancer drugs in nanoparticles to improve tumor targeting. The PolEpi program tested nanoparticle-encapsulated epirubicin; a publication on its efficacy in an orthotopic ovarian patient-derived xenograft model appeared in January 2024, and NanoVelos reportedly received a Chinese patent for anticancer therapies in April 2024. NanoSanguis has advanced its NanOX organ-perfusion fluid, reportedly entering an industrial development phase in 2026. Programs remain preclinical.

Why it matters

NanoGroup is one of the few publicly traded Polish nanomedicine ventures, aiming to make chemotherapy more selective and to extend the viability of organs for transplant.
