Ryvu Therapeutics
Small-molecule oncology · AML/MDS, solid tumors
Overview
Poland's flagship clinical-stage oncology biotech. Lead RVU120 (CDK8/19 inhibitor) is in Phase 2 for AML/MDS and solid tumors. Multiple big-pharma partnerships, including a STING-agonist deal with BioNTech and MEN1703 (SEL24) with Menarini.
What they do
Ryvu Therapeutics is a clinical-stage drug discovery and development company based in Kraków and listed on the Warsaw Stock Exchange (GPW). Spun out of the original Selvita group in 2019, it focuses on small-molecule oncology, combining in-house medicinal chemistry with synthetic-lethality and immuno-oncology biology to generate first-in-class candidates for hematological malignancies and solid tumors.
Lead program & status
Its lead asset, RVU120, is a selective, first-in-class dual CDK8/19 kinase inhibitor. During 2024 Ryvu launched four Phase II studies: RIVER-52 (monotherapy in relapsed/refractory AML and HR-MDS), RIVER-81 (in combination with venetoclax), POTAMI-61 (myelofibrosis) and REMARK (anemia in lower-risk MDS), with efficacy read-outs guided for 2025. In the RIVER-81 combination, Ryvu reported complete remission with or without count recovery in roughly a quarter of evaluable, venetoclax-failed patients. Ryvu also out-licensed its STING-agonist portfolio to BioNTech (€20m upfront plus milestones) and ADC STING payloads to Exelixis, while partner Menarini develops dapolsertib (MEN1703/SEL24), a PIM/FLT3 inhibitor, including a DLBCL study. In early 2025 the company announced a reorganization to extend cash runway.
Why it matters
Ryvu is the most clinically advanced and most heavily partnered Polish oncology biotech, validating Poland's ability to originate novel small molecules and strike deals with global pharma.
